# Undeprecated > Undeprecated keeps software engineers' coding skills sharp in the age of AI assistants. Engineers do short (10-minute) practice sessions, about three times a week, writing and reading real code without AI help. Companies buy team plans so managers can see their engineers are keeping their skills current. Website: https://undeprecated.dev ## Who it is for - Individual software engineers who use AI coding assistants daily and want to keep the ability to write, read, debug and review code themselves (also useful for interview readiness). - Engineering managers and team leads at companies that want measurable, low-effort skill retention for their teams, especially enterprise stacks such as Java/Spring Boot, Salesforce Apex/LWC, .NET, and cloud infrastructure. ## How it works - 10-minute sessions by default (5 to 20 minutes configurable), recommended three times per week. - Exercise formats: write a method from scratch, predict a program's output, spot the bug, reorder shuffled lines, fill in the blank, and pick the correct syntax. - Spaced repetition brings missed material back right before it would be forgotten; every skill has its own rating so difficulty adapts. - Content covers three eras: core fundamentals, modern syntax tagged with the version that introduced it (for example Java 21, Spring Boot 3, Python 3.12, ES2023, C# 12, Apex API 60), and legacy patterns still common in production code. ## Grading and integrity - Every answer is graded on Undeprecated's servers; answer keys never reach the browser. - Real code answers are compiled and run in a sandbox against hidden test cases. - AI reviews written code against an expert rubric and gives specific feedback; deterministic rules (for example, no SOQL inside loops in Apex) override the AI. - Paste is blocked and there is no autocomplete. Tab switching and implausibly fast answers are recorded and flagged on scores and team reports. ## Languages and frameworks (launch tracks) Java, Spring Boot, Play Framework, Quarkus, Hibernate/JPA, Kafka, Kotlin, Scala and Apache Spark, Salesforce Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, Python, Django, FastAPI, C#, ASP.NET Core / .NET, Go, Rust, C++, Swift, PHP and Laravel, Ruby on Rails, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server T-SQL, SAP ABAP, COBOL, GraphQL, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Bash, PowerShell. Teams can request additional stacks. ## For teams and managers - Completion alerts when the whole team hits its weekly goal, and a heads-up before the week closes listing anyone behind. - Weekly digest by email, Slack or Microsoft Teams; skill heatmap across the team's stack. - Integrity flags so scores can be trusted; privacy controls let admins show individual scores or team totals only. ## Pricing - Individual: $9 per month or $79 per year. - Team: $12 per seat per month, 5-seat minimum. - Enterprise: custom pricing with SSO, custom tracks for internal frameworks, and Slack/Teams integration. ## Privacy Undeprecated is operated by Tech Shepherd LLC. No ads and no selling of personal data. Submitted Apex code is sent to a DeepSeek model on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry for rubric grading; other code runs in an isolated sandbox on Cloudflare.
